Leo Musings
She is charisma. She is confidence. She is sacred self-expression. She is brilliantly blinding light. She is Leo.
Leo season is upon us. Leo is a fixed fire sign. Fire signs are creative, passionate and driven. Fixed signs are unyielding, strong and persistent.
Leo is ruled by the sun herself, giver of all light and life in our solar system. Our song for Leo season is The Sun Rose, a wordless, radiant ballad of voice and strings that depicts the reemergence of light after a long dark night.
The return of the sun at the end of each night, no matter how long, sleepless or fear-filled, is symbolic in many ways. The sun represents that part of ourselves that is eternal, our guiding spirit, the divine. The sun never gives up on us. Even when we give up on ourselves. Even when the pain, trauma and endless suffering drain all hope from our bodies. The sun returns, just as bright as she was before. The warmth, radiance and joy of the sun restore to us our trust in the power of compassion and transcendence.
Each zodiac sign has its healed and unhealed expression. In her wounded form, Leo is desperately craving attention and validation from external sources. She is misaligned in her attempts to connect with her innate radiance, either stealing the spotlight from others or sabotaging opportunities to show up in her full radiance. She doesn't yet trust that she can be her own light, that she is enough. Self-love is her life's work, cultivating the courageous heart to blaze her path through all obstacles, especially those that exist within her own psyche.
This Leo season, let us celebrate the healed and glowing Leo energy that is available to each of us. The energy that says, "You have been hidden in the shadows long enough, claim your right to SHINE!" May the joy, love and radiance of this Leo season guide your way.
