Meet the Band

Dionne Marie

Dionne is a Drumming Priestess and Sound Healer/Reiki practitioner whose voice carries the nearly forgotten memories connected with her Native American lineage (Yurok, Karuk, Hoopa and Apache). Dionne does not simply play drums or guitar; she uses her skills to channel a fierce and beautiful spiritual power that leaves listeners spellbound.  Music has always been the most powerful instrument for healing in her life and she is grateful to be sharing this gift with others through the conduit that is Spiral Muse. She is our proud alto and has been writing and recording amazing music since before Kathleen or Alison can remember (actually, since before they were born).

Alison Diana

Alison is a prophetic songwriter who draws song-writing inspiration from her embodied healing journey as a woman and her commitment to social justice.  Her visionary dreams for our group constantly call us forward into the next phase.  She is the group's Webmaster, Mistress of Organization and Archivist - truly a driving force behind the magic of Spiral Muse!  She is also a licensed therapist with a private practice in San Francisco.  She has been singing and visioning musical performances since she was a small child, her debut performance being a neighborhood children's production of The Sound of Music that she put her "bossy femme" skills to directing at age 7.  While only her mother attended (thanks Mom!), she was nonetheless bitten by the performace bug that would carry her through the next three decades.

Kathleen Neville-Shinn

Kathleen is a thealogian, minister, teacher, and musician whose songs are born from the infusion of the Divine Feminine into her Christian spirituality.  She holds Master's degrees in theology and ministry and is passionately committed to the resurrection of the Goddess in the Christian tradition.  She also has a lifelong history of choral and folk-style singing.  As our Resident Soprano and High Priestess of Harmonies, she writes music, plays guitar, sings, and works her magic arranging those divine Spiral Muse vocals.  Her lyrical voice and “magical ear” make her the perfect third to complete the vocal triad of Spiral Muse.

Lana Dalberg

Lana is a mother, violinist, activist-fundraiser and published author. Her most recent book, "Unwrapping Christmas," is a memoir that takes us through her experiences of pain and resilience in connection to the holidays. Her earlier book, “Birthing God: Women’s Experiences of the Divine” explores women’s stories of spirituality and faith. Lana is the "4th Direction" of Spiral Muse and brings a patience and heart centered wisdom that enriches the group. Her soulful violin "voice" is featured on most of the tracks of “Sing of Peace” and will be heard throughout our upcoming all-original c.d.
